THOMAS J. WALSH, JR. is a principal of Brody Wilkinson and a member of the firm’s Business & Finance and Real Estate Groups. His practice is focused primarily in the areas of general corporate matters, business transactions, financing and commercial real estate. Tom advises clients – from entrepreneurial start-up enterprises to larger privately held companies – through each phase of their growth, helping to solve both routine and complex legal issues. As primary outside general counsel, Tom addresses and anticipates legal issues so that his clients can concentrate on growing their businesses and achieving their personal and business goals.

Tom assists clients with the business and legal aspects of negotiating transactions and advises on issues such as ownership and buy-sell agreements, critical contracts with employees and third parties, debt and equity financing, dispute resolution and exit planning. He also advises on business expansion opportunities, such as mergers and acquisitions, marketing and licensing agreements, private equity and venture capital financing and joint ventures. Tom helps high net worth clients with a variety of transactional and outside general counsel matters.

Tom is a Martindale-Hubbell AV-rated attorney and has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers of America© in the field of business organizations since 2020 and has been recognized as a “Connecticut Super Lawyer” in the area of Business and Corporate law since 2022.

Tom is a fellow of the American Bar Association. He is actively involved in the American Bar Association’s Business Law Section and serves as its budget officer. He is a past chair of its Middle Market and Small Business Committee and is a member of its Commercial Financial Services Committee. Tom serves on the Executive Committee of the Business Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association.
